Celebrations Decked Up:
Rituals have begun and earthen lamps are lit up in Ayodhya before the groundbreaking for a Ram temple at the location of the demolished Babri Masjid. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend a ceremony on 5 August, when he will lay a 40 kg silver brick at the development site.A complete of 175 people are invited for the event, out of which 135 are saints of that a lot of sects.On the dais, there'll be just five people – Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, trust chief Nritya Gopaldas Maharaj, Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath — in sight of the prevailing social distancing norms thanks to COVID-19."It isn't only a historic but also an emotional moment as after 500 years the work will start. it'll be the inspiration of a replacement India," Adityanath said elucidating on the upcoming event.
The city of Uttar Pradesh gets the regular Potemkin facelift provided to all Indian cities when dignitaries are supposed to be there. Roads with saffron flags and bunting were swept and hung on. Buildings were painted and brightly coloured murals portraying Ram 's life scenes appeared on walls and outside home. Soil and water have been carried in from different holy rivers and sacred places.

When it starts, the ceremony will be televised live so that it can be observed by Hindus around the country and representatives of the Indian diaspora.
But criticism has been drawn from the timing of the ceremony, which comes as India is grappling with the pandemic and is currently the fifth worst affected region.
Uttrakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that "our faith" is connected with the Lord Ram temple being constructed here. He also appealed on the occasion to people in the state to light diyas at their homes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform ‘pooja’ at Hanumangarhi and Shree Ramlala Virajman before performing ‘bhoomi pujan’ of the Ram Temple on Wednesday, informed Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Tuesday.

Earlier Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that 11,000 diyas will be lit on the banks of the Saryu river at Ram Ki Paidi and that all houses and temples will celebrate on the nights of August 4 and 5 with a 'deepotsava' (festival of lights).
Adityanath burst firecrackers and lit earthen lamps as part of 'deepotsava' at his official residence on at Lucknow.
After the foundation stone laying ceremony, in which dignitaries from different political and religious fields have been invited to participate, the construction work of Ram temple will begin.
